What are Pop Open Cards?

Pop Open Cards are small cards (about 2.75in long x 2in high). On the front of the cards are a variation of beautiful pictures on the front of nature, wildlife, flowers, and other inspirational photos. On the inside is a surprise Bible verse with God's promise, affirmation, or declaration. To open the card, give the card a gentle bend to pop open the card and reveal the message on the inside. We tend to explain these like fortune cookies; people will only know what message they will get once they open the card. Depending on the edition, there are up to 144 different messages on the inside. We believe God will give a person the right card at the right time. We've seen it happen before, and we believe God will continue to do it again!

Pop Open Cards have a Ministry Edition, Nature Edition, Floral Edition, Winter Edition, Kids Edition, and Spanish Edition.

The Story of Pop Open Cards:

It all started in Southern Oregon, where Pastor Chad McComas had a calling from the Lord to start a new church that would serve and minister to the lost, broken, and lonely people who needed a home. While pastoring the new church, Pastor Chad discovered a remarkable tool that left a profound impact on their ministry; it was "Promise Cards," a tiny pop open card with a unique Bible verse inside.

Promise Cards were created by Dave Yancey who started printing these in 1986 under his company WordBytes. Dave Yancey said Promise Cards started humbly on his kitchen table. His two sons, Richard and Wesley, 11 and 9 at the time, served as his vice president and administrative assistant. Dave said he even made them business cards and were very involved. Dave even took his sons on trips to the bank, introducing them as the vice president and administrative assistant. WordBytes grew and sold millions of Promise Cards across the world!

At the same time, these cards quickly became popular with Pastor Chad McComas' church and they gave out thousands of them each year to their surrounding community in the Rogue Valley.

However, in 2010, WordBytes that produced the Promise Cards stopped producing them, leaving a massive void in the community. Pastor Chad and his team at Set Free Christian Fellowship kept dreaming of ways to make the cards, and after many years, they found a printer to design their own!

And that's how Pop Open Cards was born! Each card features a beautiful picture or graphic on the cover with a unique Bible verse inside, straight from the Word of God. No one knows what Bible verse is inside the card, except God, and every card that gets handed out is the perfect one for the right person at the right moment!

Statement of Faith:

At Pop Open Cards, we believe in one true God who is the eternal King, Creator, and Redeemer of all things. He is perfectly holy, just, loving, and truthful, and has revealed Himself to be one being in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

We hold that the Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God, serving as the ultimate authority on all matters of faith and practice.

Furthermore, we believe that humankind was created in God's image to know and enjoy Him, yet we willfully rejected His Lordship and glory. This act of disobedience ushered in sickness, death, and judgment to the world, leading to the effects and consequences of sin that we see in the world today.

Through faith in Jesus Christ, we can be restored to fellowship with God by repenting, believing, and receiving Him as our Savior and Lord. The Holy Spirit convicts, regenerates, justifies, sanctifies, and adopts us as we enter God's kingdom as His sons and daughters.

The victorious, redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides freedom from the power of the enemy – sin, lies, sickness, and torment.

We believe that the Church is made up of all those who put their faith in Jesus Christ and exists to carry on His ministry and advance His kingdom. As part of that, He gave the Church the ordinances of baptism and communion.

At Pop Open Cards, we believe in the ever-increasing government of God and the Blessed Hope of the glorious, visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to rule and reign with His overcoming bride – the Church.

We also believe that heaven and hell are real places and that there will be a resurrection of the saved to everlasting life.
